Oxford Circus, London

I must remember to shoot more joiners when it rains.
I must remember to shoot more joiners when it rains.
I must remember to shoot more joiners when it rains.
I must remember to shoot more joiners when it rains.

Maybe if I repeat this mantra 100 times, in detention after work, I’ll remember not to hide indoors when the weather takes a turn for the worst :)

I remember coming up out of the tube station in to the rain and thinking I’d had a wasted journey, however I decided to take the shots anyway, cowering in the doorway of one of the shops overlooking Oxford Circus, and it’s ironic that I think this is one of my best joiners.

It’s funny how that happens sometimes, in fact I’ve lost count of the times I’ve taken the photos with which to make a joiner, downloaded them and thought ‘they look crap!’. But when I start the process of putting them all together, and as the joiner starts to take shape, I suddenly realise I’m on to a winner.

Aside from the picture looking fantastic as a joiner anyway, I just love the reflections on the pavement (it’s almost like you get double for your money :), and the two brolly girls look great (they were handing out a freebee  makeup kit people passing by) sheltering under the umbrella, it gives the picture a story, some depth.

I must remember to shoot more joiners when it rains..
